Autism Carnival

Autism Carnival

The Mini Projects committee collaborated with SarahaCares for The 5th Annual Autism Carnival on Saturday, September 19, 2009. This free event focused on children with autism and their families, offering them the opportunity to play and enjoy activities that they many times are not allowed to enjoy in public venues. It also allowed parents to be able to interact with each other, form support groups, and gather current information on available resources. There are approximately 6,400 Autistic children along the Wasatch Front. There were 2,000 people who attended the event. Of those that attended, 450 children were impacted. Junior League members and other community volunteers contributed about 1,000 cupcakes for the event and also volunteered time for the Scavenger Hunt and other activities.
