Labor of Love
The Mini Projects committee along with several Junior League members and community volunteers purchased and wrapped presents for the Labor of Love project, December 11-13, 2009. In partnership with Salt Lake Advocacy Community and Training (Salt Lake ACT), this holiday gift program serves 150-300 of Salt Lake City's most vulnerable citizens who are assessed for disability and financial need. The Mini Projects Committee adopted 25 families who are raising children with significant disabilities. 28 volunteers shopped for presents on Friday and Saturday and 24 volunteers wrapped presents on a wintery Sunday afternoon. Volunteers contributed their time and money (an additional $350.00) towards buying presents and gift boxes for 25 children with disabilities. |
