About the JLSLC
The Junior League of Salt Lake City is a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) and has been serving the Salt Lake community since 1931. It began as the Salt Lake Junior Aid in and was accepted into membership of the Association of Junior Leagues in 1934 after a probationary period of training and education. Since that time, an ever-changing program of volunteer activity, financial support, and service has been tailored to the growing Salt Lake community. During its first sixty years of community service, the League's involvement was primarily in the arts, social welfare, child welfare, criminal justice system education. Since 1990, the League has turned its attention to the critical issues facing the environment, women and substance abuse, mentally ill adults, and health care issues.

Legacy of Excellence Award

The purpose of the Legacy of Excellence Award is to recognize and offer our heartfelt thanks to an individual or organization in our community that exemplifies the spirit of voluntarism through their individual acts, an open heart, and a willingness to serve. It is given to a citizen or entity manifesting energy, passion, and a commitment to building a better community, in a combined effort with The Junior League of Salt Lake City.  They are mentors for all of us to emulate in our personal and professional lives. Self nomination is strongly encouraged.
