Junior League Membership
The Junior League of Salt Lake City, Inc. seeks women for membership who share an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service and an interest in developing their potential for community involvement. JLSLC members learn presentation and negotiation skills, budgeting, time management and telemarketing while working as a team toward a common goal. Minimum age for membership is 22 years.

There are three types of membership: provisional, active, and sustainer.
For the first few months, new members are involved in training and hands-on introduction to the League's projects and fund-raisers and a variety of community issues. During this time, members are called "provisionals." There are two provisional classes, one beginning in August and one in February. Each class ends with the provisionals being voted into active membership.

The next Junior League Provisional Course will begin in September 2008.  Each meeting will begin with dinner at 6pm and conclude by 8pm.  Unless otherwise noted, the meetings will take place at Junior League headquarters at 526 East 300 South in Salt Lake City.

Calendar of Events

  • Provisional Training Course Meetings (Monday evenings from 6-8 p.m.)
  • Attend General Membership Meetings (second Monday evening of each month; social 6 p.m., meeting 7 p.m.)
  • Attend Project Bus Tour
  • Participate in the Provisional Fundraiser (a group cookbook party)
  • Participate in Provisional Service Project
Note : If an event is missed, a flexible make-up opportunity is available and required.  Our hope is that everyone will attend every meeting but we realize that sometimes that may not be possible.  If you cannot attend a meeting, there will be opportunities for a make-up but it must be completed by the end of the course.  If you need to miss more than two meetings, we will run the next provisional course in the spring.
