Salt Lake City , October 3, 2001 - The Junior League of Salt Lake City, Inc. Second Annual Black
and White Ball will be held at Little America Hotel, 500 S. Main, Salt Lake City on Saturday, October 27 from 6 p.m.
until midnight. At their Black and White Ball, the Junior League will honor local philanthropist, Cleone Eccles, and
will celebrate 70 years of service to the community. The Junior League will honor Mrs. Cleone Eccles at the Ball with their Legacy of Excellence Award. The
Award will be given annually by the Junior League to a local person whose leadership and contributions to both the
Junior League and to the community embody the League's mission and vision.
"Mrs. Eccles exemplifies the spirit of voluntarism through her deeds and actions, particularly through her long
involvement in the Junior League," said Kellie Wood, Junior League 2001-2002 president. "We are delighted to
honor her in this way."
Black and White Ball highlights include live and silent auctions that feature getaways, jewelry, art, an evening
with a Utah celebrity, and a caricature portrait donated by local artisan Pat Bagley, which he will draw at the Ball.
Dinner, dancing, gaming and the League's seventy-year commemoration and celebration will make this a memorable
event for attendees.
Tickets for the Black and White Ball are $100; corporate tables are available. Money raised from the event will be
used to support Junior League community projects.
